Photoshop is Phun!
Last week, I was trolling through anorexia websites. I thought I'd look at their "thinspiration" photos to inspire me a little. For those of you that don't know what thinspiration is, it's pictures of people (generally celebrities) who are thin. That's it. The problem is that a lot of times they'll take the already skinny woman and photoshop her so that she is skin and bones. It's really weird.
Well, I discovered that these girls are now taking it one step further. They're taking pictures of themselves, and photoshopping those to see what they would look like in an emaciated state. A lot of them were pretty sad, and gross, as you could imagine, but I was thinking... maybe they have something? I mean, what better inspiration to stick with your diet/exercise plan than a photo of what you might look like thin?
So, I got out the camera. Then, after fiddling with it for about twenty minutes, I got out the damn manual so I could figure out how to use the self timer. I know, duh, right? Well, I took a couple of pictures of me in my underwear and uploaded them. After I finished with my equal parts repulsion at my body/laughing at my ridiculousness, I commenced to playing.
I learned, photoshop guru I am NOT. It was freaking hysterical. I'd thin one arm, and then my OCD would cause me to notice that the other one was like two pixels narrower, so I'd narrow it more, then the first one would be fatter... Let's just say I had some NICE scarcrow arms.
I thought that maybe legs would be easier. HA! I botched one so bad that I ended up copying the other and just reversing it before pasting it on my body. The result? I looked permanently and hopelessly pigeon toed.
I decided to work on my waist, or lack thereof. Yeah, that was bad too. I couldn't get the shading right, my angles were all off...
Needless to say, the whole mess was a disaster. I did print it out to share with my friend, just for the comedy factor, and we were both just ROLLING at the gym.
So, tonight, I was sitting here bored when I happened to notice this little picture of myself peeking out from behind the computer speaker. It made me think, what if I took a different approach to this, and just stuck my head on a body I liked?
But which body?
Ah, iTunes to the rescue! The very next song on my playlist was "Heartbreaker" by Mariah Carey. I have it set up so that I have all the album artwork on there, and the photo of her was perfect! Into photoshop it went!
Now, it's not perfect, because like I said I am no photoshop expert my any means. But, for your amusement, here is Miss M with Mimi's body.
Thinspiration.
