Workout and Walmart

My friend and I went to the gym tonight, as we hadn't been since Saturday's Cardio Boot Camp, which totally whooped our asses. Yeah, we're bad.

Anyway, this guy in a dress shirt was standing at the door with a clipboard. I'm thinking to myself, dude, if you're trying to recruit new members, you're TOTALLY in the wrong place! Well, turns out this guy was a trainer. I know, what kind of trainer wears a freaking button down Ralph Lauren shirt to work, right? He tells us that he has a free hour, and if we like, it can be ours. My friend asked him what it would cost and he told us ten thousand dollars. Sweet. Sign us up.

Well, turns out that you can get a free personal training session once a month at our gym. They track your progress, including not only your weight but also your measurements (eek!) and that's how the trainers get their bonuses. Pretty good for us!

He weighed us, took our measurements, checked our body fat percentage (eek! again) and made us do a fitness test on the stationary bike. Then we did leg and ab workouts. Holy crap that hurt. After that, we did 30 minutes on the treadmill. Not bad.

My husband and I had to go to the store tonight to pick up a few things after dinner. One bad part about not eating out and cooking at home is having to go to the store more often! Since it was after 11:00, we ended up going to Walmart. Our cashier had no hairs in her eyebrows, only carefully stencilled lines. My husband commented that it looked like she did it with a Sharpie. The people in line behind us had 2 teeth between them both and were buying donuts, soda, and cat food. You know, just a regular night at the Walmart!

What a cool thing at your gym to have someone help you by tracking your progress! Nothing like a little checking up to make you work your butt off!
