Still here!

I haven't posted in a few days, and I was thinking I had betterdo so, lest folks think I'm MIA due to having had a baby or something.

For the record, the baby is still hanging out in my belly at this moment.

The contractions have mostly stopped. Little booger must be pretty dang comfortable in there right now! I'll get one here or there, but they're not very strong. People keep telling me that I need to go walk and/or have sex, but honestly, when sitting upright makes you tired, those are the LAST things you want to do. At least, they're the last things that I want to do!

I finally got that Seahawks blanket taken apart and put back together the proper way. Third time's the charm I guess. I need to decide if I want to bind the edges or leave it as is. If I do end up binding the edges, I need to measure them and pick out a fabric with which to bind the thing.

I also finally got around to sticking the book plate/label holder onto my clipboard. I decided that I would use that spot to keep emergency phone numbers, such as the pediatrician and our cell numbers, just in case. Yup, that means that I actually got around to finally picking out a pediatrician. We did a lot of research online, checked out websites, called around, etc. I made sure to pick one that was a strong advocate for breastfeeding and had lactation consultants available, because I've heard bad stories involving all that.

My bag for the hospital is completely packed, and has a small list on it of things for my husband to grab in addition to it just in case I'm not there when he picks it up. I never did find slippers or a robe that I liked well enough to buy. All the robes seemed too big and bulky, or were gross pastel granny robes. I'll probably end up doing Susan's suggestion of wearing a second gown backwards over the first in lieu of an actual robe.

As for slippers, I decided to just dig my black Crocs out of the closet. My husband pointed out that I can even wear them in the shower! I plan to wear them with funky knee high socks. I have a few pairs that I like to wear with boots, and I picked up two new pairs yesterday at Target, including some CUTE argyle Halloween ones with skulls on them. That's right, I'm spending my first few days as a new mom being a fashion faux pas. I think I'm okay with that!

At this point, I just need to finish my two blanket projects, write out two thank you notes, and I think I'm about caught up with all my little puttery stuff.

Eight more days to go!

Oh my gosh, you're totally in the home stretch! I know the last thing you want to hear is, "Wow those were a quick 9mons." but by golly! I imagine it has felt like an eternity to you at this point. I'm so excited for you, soon you'll be holding your sweet baby boy.
I never wore my robe in the hospital, too bulky. The new mommy hospital gowns are totally different, they cover your bum. I kicked it in flannel pants as well for some extra coverage.
Socks with skulls on them are never to be considered part of a fashion faux pas. ;) You'll look hip, I'm sure of it.
