Today's post brought to you by
Here is my latest cake creation. My buttercream isn't particularly smooth, because I skipped the hot spatula step. I was tired last night! It's the white almond sour cream cake with chocolate hazelnut filling. I think this is one of my favorite cakes now. Such a tasty combo: slightly sweet white cake with just enough chocolate to enhance, but not overpower it. Good stuff.
The stars, the bow, and the frog are all fondant. I never made a fondant figurine before. I don't think it came out too bad! He's supposed to look like he's blowing kisses, but instead I think he looks a little like a bee stung him in the mouth. Oops.
A couple of the girls that I worked with at the hotel are having a barbecue for me and my husband today to celebrate the pending arrival of Sawyer. (Two more weeks!!!) That's what this cake is for. It's flipping HEAVY.
I have to go shower and run some errands before the party. Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

That is AMAZING! It looks so professional! I'm very impressed. Maybe you should bake cakes on the side for people's parties. I would totally hire you if you weren't several states away from me!
