I love spaghetti!

I really do. Not that crap sauce out of a jar slopped on some smooshy noodles though. No, I make my sauce from scratch, with ground turkey meat and lots of veggies. It's soooooo good. I serve it over whole wheat pasta, with some grated parmesan cheese (NOT the powder out of the cardboard can either!), maybe a little bread on the side... YUM.

But now, I'm eating healthy, and exercising portion control. Have you ever seen just how SAD a serving of pasta is? I ate TWO servings tonight, because it was so sad, and it was still only about half of what I usually serve myself.

And the sauce... my lovely, lovely sauce. I sat down, with all the ingredients, and a calculator, and the internet, and I figured out the yield of my sauce, and the calories, fat, protein, carbs, etc. A serving came to a cup of sauce.

My bowl was barely half full, and my bowls are just normal sized glass bowls. There was no bread to be had with dinner either. I did have the parmesan, because a girl HAS to have her cheese!

So sad, so sad. I think spaghetti is going to have to be a once in a while splurge from now on, because I just enjoy it too much to have to limit myself in this way.

*sniff*

I completely understand..I have sworn off pasta all together for a while because of that very factor.

Yes, when watching what you eat and doing the carb and calorie counter you can't touch pasta! I don't care if it is whole wheat or not. Really stinks. That is why most people have a hard time keeping to their diets. We grew up on pasta Wednesdays and Sundays, lol. Keep your head up.. You can do it.
