What a difference a day makes!

Yesterday, I was a sixth grade teacher.

Today I am unemployed.

Do I have just the most rotten luck ever or what? I wasn't fired, per say. It's just that there weren't enough students in the sixth grade to justify having two teachers, and since I was the sub, I was the one to go. How lame is that?

The principal did say that he thought I had been doing a fantastic job. Every time he came into my classroom it was quiet and the kids were on task. He said that he placed me up there in terms of the staff he had but unfortunately they had that degree and I didn't, so off I go.

I'll admit, I'm more than a little bummed. Sure, now I have no job and therefore no income again. There went the trip to Disneyland in October! But really, I liked my kids and I liked most of the people I was working with and I liked what I was doing. That's a really good job! But it wasn't meant to be this time around.

I am supposedly going to be put at the top of the sub list though. I just don't know if I can wait around for them to get sick or have something else to do so that I can work one day. Time to start looking for a jobby-job.
