My mother in law gave her old laptop to my husband when she came to visit because she bought herself one of those net books. The thing about her laptop is that it is the exact same one I have. EXACT. This means my husband and I are now rocking twin pink laptops. Oh yeah.
I cut him a sticker with my Silhouette so that we could tell them apart.
Okay, I cut two. He went to the University of Washington, which is where that came from. Feek is a term of endearment we use for each other. I have a matching "feek." sticker on my iPhone.
Of course, I couldn't decorate his computer without doing something for mine too. I decided to use my college mascot as well. I personalized him with a t-shirt bearing my sorority letters. Then, of course, I had to add Hello Kitty. She's kind of awesome.
I have a confession to make: I'm cheap. Well, I guess that isn't much of a confession if you've been reading this for any amount of time. I like to try to get my money's worth from things. Prime example? The vinyl for the Silhouette.
You're never going to see me cut one thing out of a sheet of vinyl. I will keep a document open for days until I figure out what I can cut that will use as much of that sheet as possible. I start with whatever it was I wanted to cut in the first place then just fill in the blanks. That's how I ended up with these:
Cookie jar
Hand soap dispenser
Stand mixer
Here's what a sheet of vinyl looks like after I'm done with it:
I started with the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiments (that's actually a font based on my handwriting from
kevinandamanda.com), then added some of the letters for my "Casa de Fehling" sign, then filled in the blanks with other stuff I thought of. Some of the stuff was too big (Sawyer, Bubba) so I scattered the letters around to make them fit. The scissors, crayon, and pencil are all dingbats. I used them to label the little buckets in Bubba's art area.
Cheap. Frugal. You know.
