I've long been trying to resist the lure of vintage Pyrex. While some of it is really pretty, or retro cool, some is just plain ugly. Also, it's usually priced way higher than I'm willing to pay for pieces that are in good condition. I just never came across a pattern I liked, in a color I liked, for I price I could afford.
Then today my husband said we could go thrifting. :)
I'm lazy and haven't taken a photo of mine yet, but this is what I got. It's in almost perfect condition and the shade of pink is halfway between the two photos. This type of bowl is called a Cinderella bowl and was made in the late 1950s. We paid $17.96 for the set of four.
What a lovely pink present for my husband to give his love on Valentine's day. Now I'm going to be keeping my eyes peeled for the matching
refrigerator dishes!!!

Are you SERIOUS!? I had no idea there was PINK pyrex!?! I love it. I have a blue one with snowflakes, but I adore the pink. Why do my thrift stores never have this awesome stuff?
How funny! I have been searching recently for this patten and Friendship...orange and red being my two favorite colors, but it seems harder to come by. My mother and mother-in-law still have theirs! I remember blues and browns but not specific patterns.
Pretty! I remember my dad's mom having those in white with yellow flowers.

I am so jealous! I have the small size bowl with a black gooseberry pattern. I have been collecting about 2 years. I have some amazing pieces that I have gotten all 2nd-hand...one is even from my great grandmother and it's still in PERFECT condition. I have a few rules if I'm buying, must be perfect (no chips, no fading, etc.),and priced right. I've noticed GW prices way high. So, is this purchase going to start a new obsession? :)
