I'm hurting...
Oh, but it hurt so good, at least while I was eating it. I found the recipe on Pioneer Woman's blog. It's one of the few exceptions to my "No Cooked Fruit" rule. It may have been left in the oven for a couple minutes too long, but no worries. Still yummy! I had two helpings, AFTER I had a bowl of steamed rice and pork stirfry... I feel so gross right now!
I got my box off for the "Cyber Shower". I will admit, I'm a little nervous about it. There was only a $20 limit, and it's kinda hard to "shower" someone with such limited funds. I handmade a lot of what I sent, and you know how some people can be about handmade stuff. I don't think it was crappy handmade stuff, but you never know. I did throw in a baby rattle/toy that I picked up at Target at the last minute because of said nervousness. I also tried my hand at embroidery:
It was inspired by a piece I saw on one of my new favorite blogs. I just kinda sketched it out with a pencil on the shirt, haha. After I finished embroidering this little tee shirt, I was reading some embroidery blogs and they all say the same thing - don't make a tee shirt your first project, as they are notoriously unforgiving. Oops. I don't think it came out too bad, considering!
At least I know there are other things in the box, if that's not her style. I individually wrapped everything, and padded it with lots of colored tissue paper, because let's face it, presents are so much more fun when wrapped, right?
I also made a little card to stick in there:
A bunch of papers from the scrap pile, some letter stickers that I outlined in pen, Impress circle stamp, heat embossed of course, some oversized eyelets, and some ancient SEI velvet iron on letters. I like it.
Finally, for shits and giggles, you want to know how I know when my dog needs a bath? Her hair does this:
It's gravity defying. I can twist it, spike it, and otherwise mold it to my liking. It will stay that way too, until she decides to shake her head. Then, it goes back to looking like this. Someone's getting a bath tonight!!!
