Butterflies

I went to the Renaissance Faire yesterday for the first time. I have to say, it was an awful lot of fun! I here I am with one of my friends enjoying that fine Renaissance Faire cuisine, the turkey leg:
I learned that I am not capable of eating a whole turkey leg by myself. I'll post more pictures later this week.

I was reading Ali Edward's blog last week, and she posted this project she made using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch that they sell at Michaels. I loved it so much that I immediately ran out and used my 40% off coupon on one. Ali did hers as a bigger piece, and on a white background, but I went with a black one because I thought that really made the butterflies pop. She also left her butterflies flat, and mounted them to the piece using pop dots for texture. I chose to glue mine directly to the backing and fold the wings up so they looked kind of like those boxes of specimens you see in museums sometimes.

I found the frame at Michaels also, for $8.

I hung it on my "art wall". I've started hanging small items, mostly in black frames on one section of wall in my scraproom. I really like how it is coming along. Here's what it looks like so far:

I swear they're all hung straight in real life! Some are things I've done, some are cards I've received and slightly altered, some are things I found online and printed out because they spoke to me. It's all good stuff.
I've done a few dailies, to try and catch up, but I want to do a few more before I post them. I also want to work on my weight loss cards today. Who knows, maybe I'll get a layout in too? We'll have to see!
