Do Good.
We rounded up the family (my father in law is in town to visit his first grandchild) and headed over to Fry's, where they're having a kick butt sale on turkey right now. We got an eleven pound bird, two boxes of stuffing, two cans of corn, and a can of cranberry sauce (the jellied ridgey kind, per Lindsay, even though I personally think that stuff is foul) for under ten bucks. If it hadn't all been on sale, it would have come out to over $30!
Let's hear it for bargain shopping! Just because we're being charitable, it doesn't mean we can't be thrifty too!
We took it over to the United Food Bank in Mesa (in case you're local and you want to do good too), where they were doing drive up donations. We didn't even have to get out of the car. Awesome. Now we've done a good deed, and provided some family with a dinner they may not have otherwise had, and I'll have a little good feeling in my heart when I sit down with my own family on Thursday.
Thanks Anne and Lindsay.

Yay you! Way to go mama!
:)
Happy Turkey Day, Sarah!!!
Awesome. Good for you. We did the same thing. The food banks can make a little stretch a long way, and you're so right that even though things are tight, we are so fortunate in comparison to many. I'm glad you posted this. You never know who it might encourage.
