My Grocery List
Since I'm home, and I'm going to be a SAHM (sounds kinda scary) I've decided that part of my "job" is to manage how much I spend on crap like groceries and household items. I already started clipping coupons, and now I've added reading the grocery store circulars to that list. I made a little list of things that were on sale that I would be willing to buy/eat, and then planned a menu for the week around that and what I knew I already had in the fridge and pantry. I have it broken down by store so I will go in and buy JUST what I need. Since all of these places are within three miles of where I live, it's not really a lot of running around to save money.
Kick butt.
UPDATE:
I went to all the stores but two, because I got hot and tired. Here's how I did:
Store one -
spent - $10.59 (after tax) saved - $4.99 (using coupons/sales/club cards)
Store two -
spent - $15.86 saved - $5.00
Store three -
spent - $9.51 saved - $3.18
Store four -
spent - $12.62 saved - $11.54
Store five -
spent - $7.26 saved - $3.23
So that means I spent $55.84 total. I saved $27.94 using coupons, my store club cards, and sales. That means I saved a third of what I would have spent otherwise. I know that to some people that's a lot of money for just a week's groceries for two people, but I'm PICKY and I don't like store brands. I also buy organic whenever available, so that drives it up.
For instance, normally we go to Whole Foods and get one bag of stuff and spend $60 - $70 for about two days or so worth of stuff. Today, I got a whole week's worth of stuff (except a couple of small things) plus some snacks and pantry staples. Not bad!
Okay, you know I'm highly tickled by this if I'm doing MATH!!!

fantastic idea
Wow. That must be why I work. I don't put that much effort into anything I have to do at work all week. Ha. Great job. Makes me tired just thinking about being that organized.
LOL... I did it watching tv the other night. I'm an AWESOME multitasker!
