Getting Ready

19 days folks. That's not a whole heck of a lot of time left here. We're getting ready for some major changes in our lives!

Getting ready for baby:

The carseat is in the car. Holy hell is it freaky to see that thing back there. This is MY car? The car with the carseat in the back? Are you sure?

We got the little mirror to strap onto the headrest so we can watch the baby in the rearview mirror. I also noticed today while I was out and about that I'm going to have to pick up one of those sunshades for the window, as the sun was shining right into my poor bear's eyes.

So why the bear?

I read this on Two Peas, and since I'm paranoid and have OCD, it made sense to me! See, you put the bear in the carseat. When you put the BABY in the carseat, the bear goes into the front seat, by your purse. When you go to get out of the car, you see the bear, realize it's not in the back where it belongs, and remember the baby. If the baby is NOT in the car with you, then the bear goes into the carseat. So, basically, it's a memory device since this whole "baby in the car" thing is new to me. I'm terrified of forgetting my child somewhere, especially the car, especially with the temperatures around these parts. I mean, it's almost October and we're still hitting 100 degrees every day, you know?

So it may seem silly to some people, but it's a little bit of piece of mind for this worry wart.

My hospital bag is packed. and ready to go. The Boppy will be taken along as well. There are a few small items I still need to shove in there, but for the most part, I'm ready on that front.

The Boppy was a gift from my boss at the scrapbook store. She surprised me by throwing me a baby shower last week. It was so much fun, and I'm so thankful, because as you know, I wasn't thinking I was going to have one. We had a great little get together at one of the scrapbook stores here, and I got to see people who I hadn't seen in forever. We talked, ate cake, and everyone made 8 x 8 pages to start a baby scrapbook for Sawyer. I got a bunch of things for the baby, including the Boppy and the coolest mini album. I should have taken a picture of everything, but I got industrious and put it away before lazy kicked in again.

That's also where I learned that I was four feet around in the middle!

I went and picked up a stroller when I got the baby monitor last week. We decided that it was a "MUST HAVE" because that carrier is so dang heavy. I had two 20% off coupons, so I saved a lot of money on these items! I opted to go with just the frame that you snap the carrier onto, as it was lighter and not quite as god-awful huge/gaudy/plasticky/heavy as the travel systems. The fact that it was cheaper was just a bonus! I put it together last night and played with wheeling it around the house, because I'm a dork like that.

I'm also getting ready for fall.

I picked up a sack of mini pumpkins at the grocery store today. It was the only thing I bought that wasn't on my list. I put a few in a vase...

One on the mantel...

And the last few in my cake dome.

I was thinking, if I had a trifle dish, these would look pretty ALL stacked together in there. Unfortunately, I don't have a trifle dish, which is odd, because I love me some trifle. How can you not? It has all of the major food groups - sugar, fat, chocolate, and booze! That's love in a bowl, right there.

I had another EXCELLENT day grocery shopping, saving 37% off my total bill. We're having BLTs (or in my case, BLAvocados cuz tomato is GROSS) for dinner. I have an OB appointment tomorrow morning, so we'll see if this child is making any progress on his grand entrance into the world. I have lunch plans later this week with one friend, a barbecue this weekend with some other ones, and a new recipe for honey whole wheat bread that I can't wait to try. I went to check on my lease, and they're renewing it and NOT raising our rent this year for the first time since we moved here. There is a little dog curled up on either side of me, and I have a husband who loves me (and thankfully, puts up with all my crap) very much.

Life is GOOD.

Doesn't it feel great to be ready? Don't forget the boppy's also good for "tummy time" for the baby! This way you don't need to buy the "tummy toys"--double duty!!

Love your new color scheme! I just bought some paper from this line a week or two ago, but I haven't had a chance to do anything with it yet. It's so pretty though! Happy October. :)

Sawyer will be here within the next week. I do not think that you have 19 days before your sweet little one makes his grand entrance. I really do think that this is your last weekend being pregnant. ;)
