Embroidered Felt Flower Cards

I'm pretty sure I've posted a reference or two to Princess Lasertron's blog in the past. This girl is so cute, and creative, in her very own way. I love seeing the stuff she makes and does. Her big thing is these bouquets of felt and button flowers. They're really cool. She posted a tutorial video on her blog Friday, so I decided to try and make a few. Of course, they require you to know at least a little bit of embroidery, so I taught myself a few stitches. Some I figured out just by looking at flowers she had made. Some (like a running stitch and the whipstitch, duh) I already knew. I found the button stitch on Google and figured that out with help from a diagram. The only thing that I did different than she said was to use the Sizzix to cut out my shapes instead of scissors. Hey, if you got the tool, you may as well use it, no?

I had to decide what I was going to do with all these flowers before I started on them, because I don't have the space to craft for crafting's sake. I could make a bouquet like she does, but then it would get all dusty. I decided to stick them to cards. I pulled out some bigger pieces from my scrap pile and made felt flowers to coordinate. I stuck them on the fronts with Terrifically Tacky Tape. I love how these cards came out!

Simple, but different!
