CADD?

I think I have what could be called Crafting Attention Deficit Disorder. In the past week I've painted bibs, quilted, scrapbooked, decorated cakes, stamped, crocheted... I'm all over the place! That's not counting the cooking and baking either, as I don't know if baking bread is technically considered a "craft".

Last night I tried a new cake recipe. It was a little bland, and had a weird spongy texture that I wasn't crazy about. Maybe after it sets and with the frosting/filling it will be better. I made it for a friend who is house sitting and watching my dogs. After I took this photo I piped "thank you" on the top. I love this shade of green with the crisp white decorations. I did use royal icing on the side scroll work, just because I had some in the fridge, but in the future I think I'll use buttercream for that.

Here are the rest of the bibs that I did:

I was surprised at all the nice comments I got on them yesterday! I didn't think they were THAT nice, LOL. We're always our own worst critics, I guess.

Of course, I HAD to make these:

You know, for the obligiatory photos we're inevitably going to take later on. It cracks me up how the letters and placement are practically identical on both bibs. Let's hear it for Heidi Swapp's "Love Your Handwriting" book!

I did one with a monogram, haha. After I did it, I realized, hey, that's my monogram too! Blogger was being funny and rotating my photos again.

This one is for my Canadian friend. It was my first attempt at the "my other bib..." one. The way I was centering my lettering was to start from the center and work my way out, which meant I was writing words backwards. Well, I totally screwed up, but luckily caught it after the second letter, instead of doing the whole thing and THEN realizing it. So now I had this bib that said "eh", and I hated to waste it. I thought about it a bit, then realized I knew JUST for who it could be.

Finally, a layout I did earlier this week. I used the clear alphabet stamps I posted about before on the red letters on the bottom. The first time I did it, I stamped and embossed directly on the layout, but the letters didn't really stand out very much. I did them again on white cardstock and cut them out. They were adhered over the original stamped letters with mini glue dots. I think they look much better this time around.

This was also my first time using the edge to edge printing feature on the Epson. I've had it for MONTHS and I've not tried it before. I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I also discovered that I can print a document and scan something else at the SAME TIME!!! I've never used a printer that let you do that before! Usually one job has to finish before it will move on to the next task. Maybe I've just been slumming it with ghetto printers, I don't know. I'm easily amused.

And yes, I did lean out over that platform to take the photo of the oncoming train. Total tourist.

The Cake is beautiful. Love the green. The bibs keep getting more creative with each post. I can not believe how straight and clear your writing is. I would have a slant.. Great job on everything..
