This is what is parked in my parking space right now.
No, it's not there because some jackass helped themself to my assigned space...
It's there because it's MINE!
Well, okay, mine and my husbands, but you know what I mean. Today we bought our first NEW car ever for either of us! I'm talking new like, no one drove it except us, the salesguy, and maybe someone at the plant. Check out the odometer before we drove off the lot:
And a good portion of that was my test drive.
We got a silver Hyundai Tucson, with a STICK SHIFT, that I am SO excited about. I really missed driving stick! We did our research, and Consumer Reports rated this one second only to the Toyota Rav4 overall. We looked at the Rav4, but decided it was too small. We needed something bigger, more reliable, and able to hold stuff for getting ready for the baby. Actually, we went in to the dealership looking for a used Santa Fe, but got this one for WAY cheaper and liked it a lot better too.
The best part is that we did this all on our own - no mommy or daddy to help us foot the bill, to do the financing, to pay off our other bills so that we could afford it. We managed to pay off all of our credit cards at the beginning of this year and have really been working to get our credit back up to par. We earned this fair and square! I'm so proud of us, even if it did take a while to be able to do it.
Of course, I know that buying a brand new car is probably one of the worst investments you can make (my sister in law will be disappointed in us!) but this is something you gotta do at least once in your life, right? It's so pretty, it's going to make loading a baby in and out of a carseat so much easier, we have a way to get a crib home once we buy it... it's so perfect!
