Self Portraits

I have a friend who is the QUEEN of self portraits. This girl can take a picture of herself with a point and shoot camera like no one I've ever seen. They always come out really good, where as I try it and I end up cut off, or with a double chin, or making a face, or whatever. I pretty much suck at it.

Well, Melissa was posting self portraits last week, so I thought, what the heck, I'll try. I cheated though and used the preview screen on my camera. I looked at it in the mirror to try and get an idea of what I would look like, hence the glasses. Blogger is being REALLY stupid the last, oh, I don't know, MONTH, and won't let me upload directly so I have to use photobucket. Pisses me off. Anyway, here is one that I did. I photoshopped a couple of teensy blemishes out, because I am VAIN, I'll admit it! Whaddaya think?

In other news, my friend and I went and saw You, Me, and Dupree tonight. I loooove movies with Owen Wilson, Ben Stiller, Will Ferrell, or Luke Wilson in them, so I had to see this. The trailers looked really funny too. I'll admit, I was worried that this might be one of those movies where they put all the good parts in the trailer, but I was not disappointed. This movie was freaking FUNNY! We laughed through the whole thing. Heck, I was worried for the woman on the other side of my friend. She was laughing so hard, snorting, stomping her feet slapping her knees and laying her head on the seat in front of her (I felt kinda bad for the sitting in that seat) I seriously was worried that she was going to choke on her pretzel. It was a bit over the top. Anyway, I liked it.

After we got out of the movie, it was pouring down rain outside. We hung out in the lobby for a while, waiting for it to let up since we parked pretty far. As we finally were able to make it out, all the lights in the parking lot went out. That was kinda freaky, but we made it out okay. In other parts of the world, rain isn't a big deal, but since it happens so infrequently here it makes people get all wonky and they forget how to drive.

I better go to bed. We're going to the stamp convention in Mesa in the morning! Last year we scored all sorts of cool deals there. Gotta love unmounted rubber.

What a beautiful self portrait. I wish I could take one like that. I'm not good at it either. ugh...

My son went to see that movie and was like "mom you've got to go and see it. It is the funniest movie". I think I might just go this weekend.
