Today is a New Day

Okay... new week, new posts. So much going on.

My mother in law visited the last half of last week. I love her. We had a good time, ate too much, and she totally bonded with Leila. Her stay was too short.

I scrapbooked a little. I did this page about my brown thumb. It's really sad how many houseplants I've killed in my lifetime.

They're tearing up the floors in my apartment as I type this. They've already finished the kitchen and the dining room. I had icky old stained vinyl in the kitchen and CARPET of all the stupid things in the dining room. No more! Now I have this pretty stone looking vinyl in there. They are doing both bathrooms to match. Even better, they are doing OUTSIDE my bathroom, by the sink area. This is a very good thing because I may or may not have stained the carpet there with hair dye. I'll never tell!

This is in my scraproom. We have a two bedroom apartment and the "master" bedroom is the scraproom/office. Hey, I wanted a sink in there! This is also MY bathroom, the one decorated in pink. The carpet just got pulled up about 15 minutes ago, and now the guy is scraping the glue up.

Here is the view of the kitchen from the hall. Our kitchen is kind of a walk through, so it's not closed at one end. That was one of the things I really liked about this apartment. All the junk that was on top of shelves and the fridge is piled on the counters since that stuff had to be moved.

Don't you love how Leila feels she has to be in every photo possible? Such a little diva! This is the dining room, from the living room. It's actually a pretty good size for an apartment dining room, I think. This was another thing that attracted me to this apartment. I hate when the dining "area" is in the living room, or worse, the first place you walk into when entering an apartment. That's just bad design.

My friend gave me some herbal calming pills, so I am sleeping better and not having nightmares, at least not that I recall. I'm also not feeling that "I'm so stressed I'm gonna kill someone for looking at me funny" feeling anymore. This is a good thing. We had a fun night last week were we drank, sorta watched a movie (that I need to watch again, because my drunk behind was giving someone a coat of toenail polish) ate pizza and way too much junk food. I even got a compliment on my writing skills from my friend's boyfriend. Good times. I slept like a baby for the first time in weeks.

So, today is a new day. I am going to try to enjoy it for what it is and not worry about things I have no control over. I know, easier said than done, but I can try, and that's what matters in the end.

LOL! I LOVE your brown thumb layout. I'm the same way. My mom has tried giving me flowers and plants over the years and I've managed to kill them all. TFS

Great LO! Love the flowers you made!

That floor is great too, I'm a bit envious as we are still stuck with yucky linolium and a carpeted diningroom...ugh!

Glad you are feeling better, too! :)
