No Bubba

Today, while I was feeding the baby, I noticed it was extremely quiet.  Bubba had been playing in his room, so I set the baby down and went in there to check on him.  The problem?

No Bubba.

Maybe he's in the bathroom, I thought to myself.  I walked all the way into the room so I could look in his bathroom, but nope - still no Bubba.  No big deal.  Sometimes if his phone dies he likes to plug it into the charger in our room and lie in bed playing games.  I stuck my head in our bedroom, but still - no Bubba.

I started to panic, but then I remembered that from where I had been sitting on the couch I could see the front door, the door to the garage, and the slider to the back yard.  There was no way he could have slipped out without me noticing.  (Not that he's ever tried; he's not one of those escape artist kids, but there's a first time for everything!)  He had to be in the house!  Maybe he was hiding?  Kids hide sometimes...

So I checked his room again.  I looked in the closet, and I looked in the bathtub.  I checked the laundry closet and the linen closet.  I checked my bathroom.  I went back and checked our bedroom again.  Still, no Bubba.

That's when I noticed it.

One little boy hand just peeking out from under the duvet.  That kid is so skinny that when he lays under the down comforter on an unmade (bad housewife!) bed, he sort of gets lost!  I guess he got tired and decided to take a nap in our bed.

Way to freak out your mother, kid!
