When I posted the photos of my craft room, I mentioned that I wanted to make some sort of bunting/banner for over the window. Well, I completed it last night. What do you think?

I took a cue from the ones my friend Susanne has been making and put all sorts of fun little embellishments on the flags.

Some are simple and only have a few fake jewels stuck to them, and others have more involved items, such as a key and keyhole or a glass bottle full of glitter and beads.

It was kind of fun to dig through all my boxes and drawers and jars to see what I could find. A lot of this stuff I've either had forever, forgotten about, or both!

The beads on the end say Miss M. :)

I ran out of the sheer ribbon I used to join the flags so I turned to this polka dot grosgrain for the ends. Instead of tying it in a knot or bow, I sewed the ends together with two buttons layered on top of each other. After I was done I hot glued another faux jewel to the top.
The banner is hung from the ceiling using a clear thumbtack and some white thread. I just made it into a loop and put that around the buttons! I love this banner and think it just came out so pretty. It makes me happy to see it every time I look toward the window, which is kind of the point!
