More Christmas Decor

I told you I wouldn't be able to leave it alone! Here's what I've done since my last post.

I made a feather wreath for that empty spot over my mantel. All it took was a feather boa (40% off coupon!), a $2 wire wreath form, and some thin wire. I added a bow and DONE! This would have cost me way more than six bucks had I bought it already made.

I made a chalkboard! I bought the frame ages ago at Goodwill for $2 and gave it a few coats of spray paint. I found a piece of foamcore board in my scraproom and cut it to size before spraying it well with chalkboard paint. The bible quote is Luke 2:11, also known as part of the speech Linus gives in A Charlie Brown Christmas. I laid out the text in MS Word to get the spacing right, and then picked a font I thought I could recreate. This one is called 2Peas Wonderful. When I had it how I wanted it, I started to copy it onto the chalkboard. Not bad, huh?

I finally got around to making the bunting for the mirror in the entryway. It took me forever to come up with what I wanted it to say. I already have "joy" "noel" and "believe" in other places so I needed a new word, preferably one that has more to do with Jesus being born than Santa and presents. One of my sorority sisters posted some of the lyrics from O Come, O Come Emmanuel as her Facebook status and I found my word!

I've been thinking about silver pipe cleaners lately (yes, I'm weird) so I grabbed a small package when I was at Hobby Lobby. I made this little tree with a big button as the base. I love it so much!

I even decorated my husband's bathroom:

The pinecone was found from a tree at the apartment complex. I sprayed it with photo mount, which I already had, then popped it into a Ziploc baggie with a little clear glitter. A few shakes later, I had a snowy pinecone!

The miniature wreath and berry pick were fifty cents each at Hobby Lobby because all the Christmas stuff was 50% off when I went. I got the wooden candlestick at Goodwill for a buck. I actually spray painted another one white but decided I liked the wood better. I still stand by my stance that I'm not really a fan of hobnail glass, but when I saw a trio of small milk glass tumblers at Goodwill for only 65 cents each, I made an exception! I was going to put little branches in them but never got around to it.

I found an old wreath in the garage and gave it a good fluffing. The wooden ornaments are more of the ones from craft days at my first teacher's aide gig. A big bow and some beaded garland across the top of the mirror made it more festive.

I even tied a matching bow on the apothecary jar (also thrifted).

I bought these little embroidered snow man towels on after Christmas clearance from Crate and Barrel several years back. My husband said "Christmas is over!" and I said "But I can use them next year!!!"

Yeah. I found them while unpacking a couple of weeks ago. Whoops!

So there you go. I think I might be done now, but don't quote me on that, okay?
