Dude.

You know how sometimes you have a bunch of stuff in your head that you want to blog about, but then it gets late in the day and you're like oh, I'll do it tomorrow... then you forget again when tomorrow finally rolls around?

Yeah. That.

I'm trying to get back on the blog bandwagon here! I'll start with this:

I found the idea for this cute craft on the Willows Home & Garden blog. I cut up an old pillowcase that literally hadn't been used in years to make this since I didn't have any muslin or canvas on hand. I let the boy help me paint it. When he inevitably got bored with painting I finished it up. :)

I added some Platinum Stickles, because everything is better with a little bit of glitter on it, mais non? I totally used my paper scissors to cut out those flags, and it totally sucked too. I really need to invest in some pinking shears already. The stamps are River City Rubber Works. I stamped the letters in dark brown, then outlined them in the Stickles. A couple of eyelets for threading the string, and we were ready to go. I didn't even bother letting the glitter dry, I just hung this outside.

Today my friend Susan took me out to celebrate my birthday. She bought us pedicures and this was the earliest the salon could get us in! I was going to get a dark chocolate colored polish on my toes, but when the girl at the salon suggested that she layer green glitter polish over her Shrek green polish, I knew that's what I wanted on mine too. We got to enjoy ginger lime gimlets (at 11:30 in the morning!) while they scrubbed our feet. I loved that they used these big tubs to do it instead of those stupid germy whirlpool spas. It made my OCD happy. :)

After pedicures, we hit up some thrift stores and antique shops that were in the area. I came home with the following:

One diamond fluted dish for 35 cents (these are usually about $4 or $5), a milk bottle for $4 (total bargain), a cute little bottle for $2, and four custard cups that ended up averaging fifty cents each at the end of the day. Those are usually $3 or $4 at antique stores!

The tall vases I found at Goodwill last weekend. It set me back $4 for both of them. They're marked E.O. Brody on the bottom. They're most likely from the 60's and I just love the shape. I think they need some green roses!

I also picked up this tiny photo frame today for a dollar. I plan to spray paint it (of course) black and put some sort of Halloween saying in it for my mantel.

And that concludes what I've been up to the past few days!

Love your pumpkin project! The letters turned out great. Your frame find is a good one. Black spray paint covers a multitude of sins. Please do share when you finish with it.

I just bought five 5x7 frames for that Halloween project I did. They all came with glass and matting that I took out of them. So, I was thinking of looking for 5x7 thrift frames that I could put the glass and matting into ... maybe do something cute with them above my dresser. Anyway, your dollar frame is a good reminder to get on that project.

Sounds like a luxurious pedicure. How nice!
