Look what I made!

Finally, a finished project!

Remember that cute sushi fabric I picked up last month? This is what I made with it:

My husband is a good sport/a bad model/a dork. I sure do like him though.

It came out pretty good considering I'd never done a project like this before. Quilts are just straight lines, after all. All those gathers were a pain, as were the ties. If I were to make more, I'd definitely tell the pattern to go screw itself and to them a different way, which I think would yield a better end product. Other than that, the pattern was pretty straightforward and easy to follow.

Next on my list - making Thank You cards for the Christmas gifts we received. I'm just a little bit behind.

Greatest model EVER! You did a wonderful job on the apron. Is it a pretty easy project for someone with no sewing experience? I've been thinking about trying to make one...

I think you'd be okay if you made one with cheap/junk fabric to work out the directions (I did one before this and inevitably screwed up some things!) before you tried it with "good" fabric. The worst part is all the ironing.
