Hole-y Moley!
Here is the view from the front door.
And here is the view from the hallway, at the opposite end of the same wall as the door. Please ignore the husband's silly expression!
The guys came out to look at my little honey problem. The good news: there was nary a bee in sight. The bad news: The ceiling on my landing has to be replaced. That, as well as the small wall to the right of the door as you come in, are FULL of honey. The guy said it was nothing short of a miracle that we didn't have a serious ant problem, as the honey is coming out on the ground floor at the base of the wall also. He cut a big old hole in the wall over my door to check in there, but he says that's not too bad. This is what it looked like when he started. He kept sawing out little sections with this eensy baby saw:
But it's all patched up now, thank goodness. He did get that spray texture crap all over my freshly painted wall, so I have to go touch that up later. Grrr.... Anyway, this is what the ceiling of my landing/patio looks like now, except covered in plastic and masking tape (how ghetto!):
And this is what inside of there is coated with:
I asked if the door frame would have to be replaced as well. He said no, they'd probably just caulk it. Nice. See my little honey drips?
The wall on the outside will have to be filled with some sort of foam, to dissolve the honey and to fill the space so the bees won't come back. Thank GOODNESS!
NO MORE BUGS, please!
