Cinnamon & Sugar & Softly Spoken Lies

You never know just how you look through other people's eyes...

Weird song lyrics that just catch your attention sometimes, eh?

I've been cleaning and re-arranging my scraproom for the past week now. It was a DISASTER! I totally trashed it, but I think I am about done now. Some things stayed the same, most are different.

For starters, I got rid of ALL the wire cube shelving and replaced it with MDF cube shelving. So much nicer looking, not to mention easier to organize! I realized that my Sterilite 3-drawer units fit perfectly in these, so they went in there, and I was able to get rid of the big wire shelf. It's out on my patio now. I'm going to plant an herb garden in little pots and put them on there.

I bought ten more magazine holders at Ikea and covered the fronts with different pink and green patterned papers. I had outgrown the original five that I bought, surprise surprise! They look so pretty all orderly and lined up on the shelf.

I replaced one of my huge six foot banquet tables with a much nicer 4 ft table from Ikea. I got it in a dark finish, which I am sort of regretting because this thing attracts dust like no other, ugh. The computer is on this, as well as more magazine holders with non-scrapping items in them, such as my sorority alumni publications and my Bark magazines. I also moved my DW calendar here so I can see it more, since I spend so bloody much time on this machine!

I stacked the Store in Style cubes next to this table, in the corner. I put my flowers on top, along with a lamp, because my husband likes to use the computer in the dark. Now he has no excuse! I also moved my pink aluminum Christmas tree over here, and turned the bulletin board on it's side since I have more wall space now. All the Happy Bunny postcards got new frames and have graduated from the bulletin board to the wall above it.

On the other side of the computer table is my die cut center. I have all my Sizzix stuff here, as well as my Quickutz dies, the Zaz, and large punches. I also put my cardstock here. Since it's right next to the computer desk, I thought it would be a good place for my desk calendar too. Hey, I like calendars! What can I say?

I moved the second small white shelf over by the first one and put some glass jars on it. I decided to give my OCD the old one-two punch and MIX MULTIPLE COLORS together in one jar. It hurt, but I'm over it now.

The scrap basket and file cabinet got moved over by my remaining big table, along with the paper cutter. Now all this is at my fingertips and more convenient than other paper sources when I am creating something. Hopefully this will encourage me to use more scraps! That basket is almost full to overflowing!

The toaster oven got moved to the table, and lots of other stuff got moved off, so the overall effect is less clutter. I bought another pendant lamp (yup, you guessed it - Ikea!) to take the place of the clunky old standing one. It matches the one over my stamp table.

I realized that I had a ton of tiny metal embellishments sorted into floss boxes, but that I never used them because I couldn't see them, so I sorted them out (again, mixing types of things together aughhh!) and put them into little glass jars. I've always admired these jars, but never could think of what to put in them before. I love the way they look all lined up there on the shelf.

Of course, there is the stamping area. Everything there pretty much stayed the same. You know, we went to that stamp convention yesterday, and I seriously spent more on admission ($6) than I did in the shopping area. Isn't that sad? It was seriously so good last year, and this year it was just lame lame lame. I bought two sheets of rub ons, for a dollar each, two unmounted stamps, for 50 cents each, and a wood mounted stamp, for $3.50. Okay, so I spent SLIGHTLY more than I did on admission. They had scrapbooking pajama pants, but at $33 a pair, it was too rich for my blood. They were just COTTON fOR crying out loud! We had to go over and check out the new location (to me anyway) of Mystic Paper to soothe our need to shop. I got some 7 Gypsies 97% complete stickers.

Oh, and I made another F for my F wall. It's pretty simple, and VERY loud! I love it, it's just like me!
