Stunning.

Today we had to take Miss Kelly Bean back to the hospital for her hearing screen.  During her initial screen, one ear passed and the other failed.  From what I understand, this is very common in c-section babies since they tend to have more fluid in their ears for some reason.  I wasn't worried.

They did the test again a few days later, before we were discharged.  The good news was that the ear that failed previously now passed.  The bad news was that the ear that passed previously failed that time.  So, we got an appointment to come back to the hospital in two weeks.  Yay!

Thankfully, we went in and she passed just fine, with BOTH ears this time.  To celebrate, we had one last meal in the hospital cafeteria.  Say what you will about hospital food, but this place has some good grub!  Best Onion Rings EVAH.

On my way out with the baby, a random stranger smiled at me and said, "You look stunning for having a newborn!"  No one has ever, in my entire life, told me I looked stunning before.  Not even on my wedding day.  Let this be a lesson to you - give strangers compliments.  Sure, they might think you're strange, but odds are higher that you'll just end up making their day like she made mine.

Thank you, kind stranger.  This new mom appreciates the time you took to spread a little happiness.  :)

I took a picture with The Bean (as my husband is now referring to her) when we were home later that day.  Hooray for not having "pregnancy face" anymore!

Ooh - and I bought myself a present last week.  It came in the mail yesterday.

I wanted some sort of "mom" jewelry, but I tend to like simpler pieces.  I found these on Etsy and knew they were perfect.  Simple and neutral enough to wear every day.  One for Sawyer and one for Kelly, each on their own chain so one is never always in front or always on top.  They're of equal importance.  I love them!
