Let's Do This.

My husband is fond of saying that it's one of the grand jokes of the universe that we spend our teens and twenties being told not to even breathe on a member of the opposite sex lest we find ourselves with child, only to find out how hard it actually is to get there when you reach an age where you finally want to be pregnant.

I suppose I really can't complain yet. I mean, we do already have one child. Also, we've only been trying for three months, which is NOTHING compared to what a lot of people go through. Still, every month when that visitor comes a-calling you can't help but feel like there's a giant, blinking neon light over your head flashing FAIL over and over again. It's frustrating!

This month though, we're trying something new:

I have to say, I am so very blessed to have friends who have stepped up and offered to help us out on this. One sent me a fertility monitor, and let me tell you, these things are NOT cheap! No way I would have ever afforded one on my own. I know they say you shouldn't use them for more than one person, but I'm pretty sure that's to cover their butts since bodily fluids (urine) are involved. Honestly though, it's not like anything that touches this with the fluids touches you again (except for your hands which can be washed) and since I know the person who used it before me, I'm pretty much okay with it, and I have a raging, well diagnosed case of OCD.

I also received testing sticks for the monitor from two different friends, as well as a pregnancy test. As you may know, none of those are cheap either. I'm so blessed to not only have friends who are generous, but to know they're not thinking I'm a bad parent to the kid I have by wanting to help me out on this journey. I mean, if we totally and completely sucked at this parenting business, I doubt anyone would be helping us to have another kid to ruin, am I right?

We hung out with some of our old friends this weekend. One couple just had a baby a few months ago, and the other is just finishing out her first trimester with her second. Her first is just five months younger than Bubba, so I'm kind of hoping that we'll get to be pregnant together again like last time.

Almost everyone I know who has used this monitor has had success with it in the second or third month. That's pretty impressive, so I'm hoping it will help us out too! Cross your fingers!

As I said, that there monitor helped produce three healthy kiddo's(two different families). Good luck!! Did I ever send you the resetting info link? I think I still have it booked marked somewhere if not. And honestly I believe the REAL reason they say not to share is simply to sell more. ;)

It was worth it's weight in gold as we didn't want to spent years guessing, charting and being disappointed. That puppy takes out all the guess work and I would recomend it 1000 times over for anyone who wants to start a family- even to those who are just mediocre parents, myself included. Hahaha.
