A Tip For Curtains

This is probably old news to oh, everyone on Earth just about, but I figured it out this weekend and thought I'd share. You know, just in case I wasn't the only one who hadn't discovered this trick by now.

When I hung the curtains in my craft room, I found myself getting annoyed because the ends didn't gather up like the rest of them did along the rod. It's not a big thing, but it doesn't look that great.

How to fix it?

Terrifically Tacky Tape. I love this stuff! You can get it at craft stores. It's super sticky and holds really strong, yet peels off neatly from most surfaces that aren't paint or paper. I've used this to hem pants and sent it through both the washer AND dryer, and it still came off neatly leaving no residue on my clothes. It's also awesome to close the gap on button front tops (if you have issues with that) and sticking bra straps to your top so they won't show.

I cut a little piece, about an inch long, and put it on the curtain rod just shy of where I wanted the curtain edge to be. Then, I stuck that edge of the curtain to the tape. This holds the curtain in place and I was able to neatly and evenly spread the gathers on the rod!

Here's a terrible photo of the whole window:

The curtains hang so much neater now.

Great tip -- for curtains and other things (like the bra, hemming and button shirts). Thanks!! I hadn't heard of the tape, but I just put it on my list to buy next time I'm at the craft store.
