That's right - thirty three!
Year 32 was all over the place. There was so much bad, but so much good too. I lost my best friend
for the second time, I suffered severe
insomnia and pretty bad depression, my
marriage struggled, we were
overcome at times with debt, I managed to get
pregnant while on birth control, and subsequently, I
lost that pregnancy. However, I am choosing to focus on all the good that the year brought: I had an
awesome 32nd birthday, I got to celebrate my son's
first birthday, we had an amazing, mostly handmade
Christmas at home with family, we paid off our hospital bills, I got picked to be an
ambassador for All Clad and they sent me TWO (worth almost $400!!!) awesome sauté pans, and we got to go on our first family
road trip to Texas to watch my sister in law get
married.
Sure, there are things I started that I wish I had kept up better (
running, cooking my way through
Jamie Oliver's book) but hey - it's a new year! Who says I can't start over or pick up where I left off?
Today I will hopefully be able to get a nap in before the boy wakes up so I'm not too tired. I want to make him some
cheese crackers and get in a trip to the library where I have
Ad Hoc at Home (squee!) on hold. I think I'll make dinner tonight, and we'll go out on Friday or Saturday to Benihana. I love me some
Splash and Meadow, y'all!
Maybe I'll even make me a little birthday cake. We'll see.
In the meantime, I'm planning a year long project to help celebrate year thirty three. Did I ever tell you how much I love odd numbers? Things just seem better in groupings of five or seven, but the absolute BEST is three. Here I'm getting TWO threes for a whole year! There will be more about this project for this special year later this week. Until then, I leave you with this:
Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
What a fitting reminder for the coming year of life. :)

Happy Birthday!
I made the cheese crackers this weekend. They were a big hit in our house...Thanks!
Miss M. Since this is the first official day of you being 33and FABULOUS...just wanted to say congrats (oh and happy belated bday).
I hope this year is the best one ever. I've really enjoyed 'getting to know you' and your cute little familia through your blog. You post some of the most interesting and inspiring things. Hey I even went out and got some microfiber cloths to clean my house....how about that! AND Just to see how good they worked vs. my usual cleaning methods, I had to TRY them out. LOL so now some of my house is even clean! (sad I can't say my whole house is clean, but hey I work full-time and I do what I can every day).
Happy birthday! Best wishes for the whole year. :)
