Seven Months

Bubba is seven months old!  Here are the photos from this month's shoot:

Check out our big kid.  My husband and I have looked at these photos and can't decide if it's that he's getting really long legs or if they just look long because they're kinda skinny.  Either way, we don't know where they came from, because we are neither long legged or skinny.

He was so not in the mood to smile for the camera.  This blurry shot is the closest I got to a smile that day.

I was waving a book around in front of him to try and get his attention.  I got it alright!  He started leaning forward and grabbing for it and getting all fussy at me, so I just handed it to him.  He sat quietly and played with them for a bit while I took pictures.

In addition to loving books, he happens to think the dogs are pretty dang funny and blowing raspberries is the height of comedy. It's so much fun to watch him problem solve, learn, and get excited about things.  I get excited too.  For instance, today I swear he signed "milk."  Also, if I hold out my hands and tell him "give me your hands" he'll reach out to grab them and pull himself up.

Tee hee!  Look at those ears!  (I can say that, it's my kid!)

At seven months he is sitting up pretty reliably, can get up on all fours and rock a little bit, can stay standing if he has something to hang onto (like the sofa or a box), loves banging on the computer keyboard (I bought him one of his own with which to play), stays up late and sleeps in just like mom, and eats a LOT.  For instance, today for lunch he had 3 oz of carrots, 1 oz butternut squash, 1 oz peas, 4 oz applesauce, and 5 oz breastmilk.

Yeah, I don't know why he's so skinny (15th percentile at the pediatrician's office last month) either!

So far he's had broccoli, peas, green beans, avocado, rice cereal, baby oatmeal, brown rice cereal, applesauce, carrots, sweet potatoes (yams), butternut squash, acorn squash, peaches, and bananas.  We have to hide green veggies and butternut squash in carrots or sweet potatoes in order for him to eat them, as all of a sudden he decided they were gross after eating them for a month and a half with no problem.

He can sit up with Uglydoll now!  I even color coordinated them, because I'm a nerd like that.  I ordered a few diaper covers in fun colors a couple weeks ago.

This is what he looks like a LOT of the time.  He likes to suck his thumb in addition to sucking on the binky, but he can't just stick it into his mouth.  He has to grasp it with the other hand and hold it while he sucks it.  Weird.

Here's the actual benchmark photo.  He's getting longer.

My husband said he looks like he just took out Uglydoll here.

"Whatchoo talkin' bout, Willis???"

Those gorgeous eyelashes.  So cute.

He is so long!! I love the big belly hanging over the diaper!
I think they are going through a growth spurt at this stage or something. Sami just packs away the food too.
Great pictures!
