Four months!

Our Bubba, he's getting big! Here's his benchmark photo for this month:

Gotta love those ginormous gDiaper cloth covers!

We went to the pediatrician this morning for a check up, physical, and baby shots. The latter are getting a little bit easier to handle. It's mostly the anticipation, waiting for them to happen, that sucks. The baby doesn't know they're going to happen, and when they do, he only cries for a minute. I, on the other hand, spend the whole time we're there feeling really bad for the little guy because I know how much I hate getting shots.

He weighs 13 lbs, 14 oz and is in the 35th percentile for weight. That's lower than the 50th percentile that he was last time we were there, but higher than the 25th where he was born. I'm not fooling myself though - I know neither of his parents are very tall/large people, so he's always going to be on the bottom half of that chart, and I'm okay with that. So is his doctor, so no worries there!

She checked him out and said everything looks good. He appears to have a birthmark INSIDE his belly button, which I think is odd. She laid him on his stomach to check his head and neck strength and he immediately rolled over onto his back, taking the paper cover on the bed with him. What a show off! He also chattered at her and at the nurse. Well, at least he chattered at the nurse until she gave him those shots - then he yelled at her!

The pediatrician (I keep wanting to say vet - blame it on having only dogs and cats all these years!) asked if he was showing interest in what I was eating, and I told her he had the past week or so. She cleared him to start rice cereal this week. After that, we can move on to baby oatmeal, barley, and then green vegetables. To celebrate, I went to Pottery Barn Kids and bought him a tiny divided plate and bowl of his very own.

My little man is just growing SO FREAKING FAST!!!

Seriously, I don't know why Blogger does this to some of my photos. I can't figure out how to get them the right way! If anyone reading this knows how, and can leave me a clue in the comments, I'd surely appreciate it.
For now, you'll just have to tilt your head to the right.

Sorry. But he's really cute, so it's kinda worth it, don't you think?

Here he was starting to be displeased by this "photo shoot" business. He's very expressive.

And then he was done!

LOL about the vet comment! :)
Boy are you in for fun now with the "solids". Don't expect to get much in him for a while. But it is an exciting step. Don't forget the pictures!

Glad you had a good check up. That pic of him in the hat -- good stuff, indeed. He's a cutie patootie. :) That's cute you bought him a PB bowl to celebrate his graduation to rice cereal. I've heard moms cheer when they add that to their night feeding. Good sleep awaits, from what they have told me. Enjoy!

yay!! 4mth visit over! So how are you feeling about rice cereal now? Going to take the plunge? We haven't gotten around to it yet. With the ear infection, its enough work getting the antibiotics in dd. I'm hoping this weekend.

Adorable pictures. He's so sweet and looks like he's got quite the personality!

So, so cute! Don't be upset with me for saying so, but he's beginning to look like, well...a kid! :) He's losing the tiny baby about him. Congrats on the go-ahead on solids. Have fun! :) For me, I never noticed improvement in sleeping once we introduced rice cereal.
