The Incredible Shrinking Woman

Holy Crap.

On the day I found out I was pregnant, I weighed 187 lbs. I had started dieting a couple weeks before (joke's on me!) and had actually gotten down to 184 lbs from 189 lbs when all of a sudden I started to put on weight again.

When I went for my first prenatal visit, I weighed 190 lbs again. Apparently, the weight at your first visit is what they use to gauge your weight gain for the rest of your pregnancy.

When I reached the 200 lb mark, I literally sat in my doctor's office and cried. I knew it was a milestone that I would reach when I got pregnant, but I've never weighed that much before. Psychologically, it was hard.

When I gave birth to my son, I weighed 215 lbs, which marked a perfect 25 lb weight gain. It was exactly what my OB had told me she wanted me to gain at the beginning of my pregnancy. Since I have always figured that I would be one of those women who gains sixty-plus pounds when I eventually got pregnant, I was quite pleased with just 25. I still felt like a blimp, but I knew it could have been much, much worse.

When I came home from the hospital, I weighed 201.5 lbs.

Today, a week and a half later, I weigh 191.5 lbs. That's just 1.5 lbs from my "official" starting weight. That leaves me 7.5 lbs until I get to where I know I was when I got pregnant, and I can officially start on my way to getting to a healthy weight again.

Breastfeeding kicks ass.

Congrats! Nursing is the best! The only thing i've noticed is that now my weight is in different places. Do you have that? For example, my rings still don't fit! :(

Oh yeah. I have this LOVELY bunch of loose skin at the bottom of my belly that I know is NOT going away anytime soon, if ever. I haven't tried my rings yet.
