I'm blogging in NYC!!!

Woo! Oh man. My feet HURT.

Yesterday, it was cold and rained. We were pretty frozen by the end of the day. We walked all over just looking at things and going into shops. We had breakfast at EJ Luncheonette, saw Grand Central Station, visited SoHo, NoHo, and Greenwich Village.

Going into Grand Central, I took this photo while waiting for the light to change so we could cross the street.

While we were in the crosswalk, a man told me to be sure not to miss the rats, and pointed them out. Sure enough, there are these giant stone art deco rats climbing the ropes out front, so I took a picture of those too.

Grand Central Station is HUGE. This is the the Main Concourse; the part that you see in movies and on TV.

There's my mother in law wearing the white coat on the bottom of this photo. The crazy part is that this place is so huge, this is only a part the terminal! There are all sorts of tunnels and connections to different trains, multiple levels, a really cool food court, shops, and people! So many people, and many with dogs!

I've been told that I have to have the cheesecake at Juniors. Unfortunately, I'm not much of a cheesecake person. I am, however, a little dog person!

We had to get across town, so we took the subway. My first subway ride!

I have to tell you, the subway was nowhere NEAR as bad as I've heard it was. It smelled funky when you got down there, because of all the exhaust, but the trains themselves were nice and clean and well lit. There was one ride where it was rush hour and we were packed in worse than sardines, but that's nothing I didn't experience on the city bus in Phoenix, so I was okay. There's some good people watching too.

And that's all the pics from yesterday. I totally slacked off with the camera.

I didn't think the subway was as bad as I had heard, either. Quite the experience all the same. I am glad I can say I did it.

I am so glad you get to experience NYC. I want to go someday. I just need a SIL for a guide! LOL

Have an amazing time!!

Merry Christmas!

Girl, you need a TV talk show. That was a GREAT travelogue! Even my DD enjoyed reading it. So glad you are having fun up there!
