Twelve of 12 - August 2011

It's that time of the month again folks! I had a bit of a slow start with my photos today. I didn't go to bed until about 5 am last night, and I rolled out of bed at 1:30 in the afternoon. Sometimes, I really miss my Ambien. Truly.

First stop - check email and Facebook. I had some Instant Breakfast while I got caught up.

I really need to clean my desk. Ugh.

There were some errands that needed to be run, so I bathed the boy before I got myself cleaned up. I had his father (who was telecommuting) come get him when I was done. He got to hang out au naturel on the couch while watching some cartoons, so he was a happy camper.

Then I finished with my shower. Hooray, zits on my forehead!

The boy saw me walking by with the camera and he immediately started cheesing it up for me. How could I not snap a photo?

It's amazing what makeup can do. Worth every penny! Need to work on that hair though, and a little lipstick wouldn't kill me...

I had to run to the Dollar Tree to grab some aluminum baking pans, and then to the grocery store for a few things. Also, I someone coming by to pick up an item I sold on Craigslist today. I bought a Pottery Barn gift wrap organizer cabinet at Goodwill a few months ago. I was super excited because I knew that this thing retailed for almost $300 and I got it for SEVEN DOLLARS!!! It still had the fancy silver push pins and the magnets for the magnetic chalkboard doors! I was so excited, but unfortunately, I had no room for it. Boo.

Good news? I sold that bad boy for $60 bucks. AWW YEAH.

After the grocery store I met up with mah knittahs. I missed last Friday's get together so I was especially glad to be there tonight. I regaled them with tales of the many ways I have been an idiot in the past, because that's just how I roll.

When I got home, I worked with my husband on making a whole mess of baked ziti to put in the freezer. Actually, we used cellentani (aka cavatappi) because I like those cute little curly-q shapes a whole lot better than ziti. At bible study last week we were asked to bring a frozen meal for a family who currently has a child in the hospital, so one of the four pans we put together will go to that.

This is the scene on my dining room table. Last weekend I got FIFTY pounds of tomatoes from Bountiful Baskets, and this week I worked on canning them. I got 28 pints with some left over. The leftovers were used in the sauce for the ziti. Now I need to figure out where I'm going to put them!

The boy curled up on the armchair during this activity with his blanket and his Kitty Cat, and that was it for him, at least for a while.

Goodness ready to be frozen, (minus some cheese because I ran out). YUM! This was a pretty labor intensive dish, so it will be awesome to enjoy it on some night with no work involved.

After that was done I got comfy on the couch with the latest Martha Stewart Living, which, by the way, I get for free. Did you know if you follow me on Twitter I put links to the free magazine subscriptions I find there so you can get them too? It's true!

Jadeite is nice, Martha, but milk glass is where it's at! Ooh, that reminds me. I have to tell you what my awesome auction-going friend Suzy got me for my birthday. She finds the BEST things. I'm a lucky, lucky girl!

My husband had to go buy me a little bit more cheese, and on his way back in he checked the mail. There was a package from Grandma in there. When the boy saw it, he was super excited because he knows that Grandma sends him cars.

You know you love my ghetto cable cords there in the background. Schnazzy.

And there was my day in a very big nutshell.
