More Baby Layouts

It has become apparent to me that I have two different types of insomnia. The first, which is the one that I usually have, is the one where I am tired all day until about ten at night. For some reason, at that time I get a renewed burst of energy and all traces of sleepiness exit my body. I then am awake and unable to sleep until five or six in the morning. It blows, but since the boy is fond of sleeping in, I usually still get a good six-seven hours of sleep each day. I can make up the extra hour or two I'm missing if needed by joining the boy when he naps.

The other type of insomnia is the one I've been experiencing this past week. For some reason, when ten o'clock hits I stay sleepy and by eleven I could cry because I'm so tired. I drag myself to bed, fall asleep instantly, and then find myself awake at three in the morning. I'm talking about wide eyed, brain already moving, morning person awake.

It pisses me off, frankly.

I end up getting really tired again right about the time Bubba decides to get out of bed. This means that I end up running all day on only 3-4 hours of sleep. I don't like this type of insomnia!!! People keep telling me to ask my doctor for Ambien, but that stuff scares me. Besides, while I'm not above taking medications when necessary, I happen to think that as a society we overmedicate ourselves. I don't want to be running to the doctor and pumping myself full of artificial chemicals if I don't need to do so. Some may argue that I do need to do so, but since I still mostly seem to be functioning, I think I'll hold off.

All that is to say that since I've been up for hours already, I've managed to get some more pages done for the boy's scrapbook. I did two this morning and two yesterday morning.

Journaling straight from this blog post.

Those letters just barely fit on there. I'm so glad they did! I was too lazy to paint them so I just used a mini ink pad to color them. Gotta love those Cat's Eye Chalk Inks!

Journaling from this blog post. My printer is doing something weird with the colors on type. That color gradation in the title was not on purpose, but since I didn't want to waste another sheet of cardstock hoping it would get better I left it.

I love this page, and it's probably the simplest one yet. Journaling from this blog post.

I have the exact same insomnia issues! And both are so miserable. I cut out caffeine, eating late at night, playing on the computer late at night and every other thing they say to do to induce good sleep. So frustrating!

Have you ever tried Melatonin? It's supposed to be a natural sleep aid. I've never needed it - I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat! - but I've heard that it works for some people.

I have, but it didn't work unless I took the maximum dose in combination with a Unisom.
