What's Your Home Style?

As I was poking around the internet this evening (waiting for my blackberry cobbler to cool so I could eat some!) I came across this style quiz posted on a blog called Simple Lovely. It's actually a link to the HomeGoods website. You know that store right? If you don't, and you have one in your area, you should. They have serious bargains and lots of fun stuff in there. And no, no one paid me to say that.

Back to the subject, I took the quiz and this is the result I got:

Yeah, that's pretty much me in a nutshell! Pretty interesting, huh? It also gives you your "happy home colors:

The tan in the upper right corner is almost exactly the color I painted my living room wall. In fact, most of these colors can be found in my living room, from the terra cotta pots holding my plants to the yellows and oranges of the poppy print over my couch. Very interesting.

Of course, this doesn't explain the sudden onset of turquoise and red fever I've got going on in the kitchen, but whatever. :) I thought it would be interesting to share so that others could see what it says about them. If you take the quiz, I'd definitely be interested in reading your results!

That was a cute quiz! I got Country Casual:

Your home expresses your open, easygoing approach to life. You love unique finds, and can turn a few mismatched garden chairs or floral teacups into a charming arrangement. You appreciate a pretty mix of relaxed pieces, like painted wood or weathered furniture, lovely florals and other patterns, lots of throws and pillows, mementos and bunches of fresh flowers that give your home a unique sense of breeziness and charm.

You value comfort. Your home is a warm and open friendly place, and you feel happiest when everyone is cared for and relaxed in your space. Elements like pillows, throws, overstuffed furniture, and good lighting set the mood. You may also enjoy layering different fabrics or mixing patterns to create a cozy effect.

I'm not sure if my first post worked...

I got the same answer as you, but my happy colors were blues and purples. Interesting because my house is all done in your happy colors!

However, I did just buy a bunch of fabric in my happy colors for a quilt that will be all mine mine mine! Maybe when we move I can play around with those colors.

Thanks for sharing, that was a fun quiz.

Shannon, you are a GLAMOROUS CLASSIC

You have a refined sensibility with an appreciation for history and tradition in your furniture and your rooms. You value beauty and craftsmanship. You are visually sensitive and understand how symmetry and a balanced layout give order to a room. But you definitely like to shake things up with some unabashed luxury and glamour to keep things from getting boring. You go for rich materials like velvets, one-of-a-kind objects, lady-like touches, glimmering accessories, and a sense of old-Hollywood romance that makes your home dramatic and elegant.

You value creativity. You are stylish and fun loving, and can be an inspiration to others. You have a natural sense of drama, and you know you have to be willing to take risks—whether with colors, finishes, furniture choices, or ideas—for your home to stand out. Your home can be happy and lively and the place all of your friends want to be.

That was FUN--thanks it is a little scary how it hits things right on the nose lol

Country Casual. That is definitely me to an extent, but the color suggestions...no way.

I LOVE red & turquoise together. I wish I could make them work together in my kitchen as well.

Elegant Classic

You have a refined sensibility with an appreciation for history and tradition in your furniture and your rooms. You value beauty, things that are well crafted, and family heirlooms. You are visually sensitive and understand how symmetry and a formal layout give order to a room, and hence your home is refined and calming. You are not taken in by the trends of the moment. You go for things with a timeless appeal, and appreciate old-fashioned virtues like manners and handwritten notes and making a home that is welcoming for others.

(It's funny because those really are my colors -- blues, blue-green, lavender, gray)
