My mission is to live my life to the best of my ability, with only minimal regrets. I am committed to celebrating myself, my passions, my choices, my authenticity and my spirit through honesty, bravery, wisdom, and self-reliance.
Today we attended a potluck with one of our playgroups. Most of the other moms and babies had left and a few of us were hanging out chatting when I noticed that my son, who had just moments before been in the middle of the rug, was now at the edge of the rug! I said hey look - he's moving! One of the other moms asked me when he had started to crawl. I was like, um, about thirty seconds ago?
She laughed and said I bet if we take his overalls off (gosh I'm a sucker for little kids in overalls!) he will just go. So, we peeled them off and set him back in the middle of the rug. Luckily, I am rarely found without my camera in my bag, so I was able to catch video of him trying to get over to the ball.
It's not the most stylish or coordinated crawl, but it's a crawl, dang it! Bubba is now mobile!!!
Have you tried bribing him with the cell phone or car keys? :) We found that when Jenna was first dragging herself across the floor, those would get her to move a lot faster.
Either way, give it about a week, and he'll be zooming all over the place. It's crazy how fast they coordinate their movements once they know they can actually get somewhere.
He has *the* cutest expressions, by the way. I bet you never get tired of looking at that little face.
RE: the lasagna, YES, it does smell SO good in here!!! It's done. I am going to the gym this AM to counteract what I am going to do tonight. It's a veggie lasagna; Mr. A. does not eat pork or beef.
Damn. Then again, I can't find good, Italian sausage in Phoenix!
RE: overalls, Mom kept Ryon in overalls for his first 4 years. They keep lil' boys' poked-out stomachs from showing. If you find a pair of seersucker bibs, you've got to get them! If I see a pair, I'll snag them for you.
