Busy Busy Busy
Check out what Bubba did today, for the very first time, all by himself! Sure, he only was able to hold it for about 30 seconds, but that's a long time when you've never done it before and you're just two days shy of being five months old! He's been able to sit if I prop him up against something, like the corner of the couch or some pillows for a long while now. More recently, he could stay sitting if I gave him a finger to hold for balance.
But all by himself? Wow. He was doing it again this evening too. I'm so proud of my little man!
In other news...
We shampooed the living room and hall carpets yesterday. By "we" I mean "my husband." I think the last machine we rented was a bum one, because this one totally blew it out of the water. The carpets look so good now! I know they're not really clean (carpet never truly is - it's nasty, nasty foul stuff) but the improvement is very noticeable.
I also made a mini picture wall of sorts on this tiny section of wall next to the window in our living room:
Before anyone congratulates me on my clever photo arrangement skills, check page 246 of the 2009 Ikea catalog. I used binder clips instead of the clips they used, because I had them, and I made my own 3 x 3 photo collage instead of framing a card like they did. The F is an old Provo Craft one I had lying around that I painted black to match. I rather like the way it came out!
Finally, photo evidence of the reason why my curtains won't stay puddled properly at the bottom:
Someone seems to think that they're her own personal pup tent, and takes little naps back there. Silly dog.
We had some friends over for dinner tonight, and it was so much fun! I made chicken spinach enchiladas and Mexican rice, which are two things I haven't made in forever. Heck, we haven't had anyone over for dinner in forever! It was fun to get to cook for friends. I wish we had more couple friends that we could have over to eat and chat. I really like that.
Bubba and I are going to our second mom group meetup tomorrow. Should be fun!
