Creative Outlet

Perhaps this is something that only happens to creative people, or maybe I'm just a freak, but if I go too long without getting to make something, anything, I get kinda crazy and this antsy, frustrated feeling will come over me. It can strike at any time, without warning, but once I get this urge to make something, I have to do it or I can't stop thinking about it. It can be something I saw online, or in a magazine, or even something I dreamt about.

Yeah. I'm weird.

So anyway, this morning while I was reading Ali Edward's blog, I clicked on a link to this tutorial for a felt garland. I thought to myself - hey, I have felt, and I have a sewing machine. I bet I can do this while the baby naps! The person who made it used old sweaters, but I figured the acrylic felt I already had on hand would work fine. I actually thought about this all morning and early afternoon until I decided that I just had to do it and make one for our tree.

So, I resisted the urge to bust out the Sizzix and make all my felt circles even and the same size. Instead, I opted to cut them out freehand using my fabric scissors. I don't think I did a bad job at all! I just used scraps from other projects, then stitched them together with brown thread. It made a pretty long garland pretty quickly.

It goes around the tree again a bit higher than you see in this photo. Here's a close up:

I love how festive and brightly colored it is. Happy garland!

Tomorrow is GREAT. What time? Where? I sent you an email from mademoisellechitchat@yahoo.com

The message includes my cell #. Call me. THANK YOU for this opportunity! I am looking forward to getting my Mommy fix. ;)

I am so SIK of men right now. I have been blasting out my ex for the past 12 hours. He made me feel horrible, and I feel bad that I lowered myself to have "misery" join company.
