Baby's First Bath v2.0

Now, with pictures!

After I posted yesterday about being a total dummy and disgrace to my "Scrapbooker" title, Susan emailed me and said she'd come over so that I could give him a bath myself and we'd get pictures this time. Isn't she awesome? So technically, this is Sawyer's mama's first bath. Well, not MY first bath, but my first time bathing a baby. Any baby. Most importantly, my baby.

The little man was not sure at first about doing this bath thing again.

Then he remembered: oh yeah, I didn't like this!

Then he was distracted by mom's bad hair. I swear it didn't look as bad in real life as this photo or the expression on my son's face makes it look.

Getting shampooed:

I bought this lavender scented baby shampoo that seriously smells good enough for me to consider using it on my own hair. I probably won't, but I'll admit I thought about it. I have the matching scented pre-soaped baby wash cloths too.

See, the child doesn't deal well with change. You undress him and stick him in the tub - he complains until he gets used to it. Then he's happy. You pull him out and wrap him in a towel, and he complains again. Give him a minute to get used to it...

Okay, maybe two minutes!

Then he's all sweetness and light. Not to mention he now smells super yummy and all you want to do is hold him and sniff is little head. Add in that awesome baby-lotion-in-the-pink-bottle scent, and oh man...

A mom could get used to this.

I love the play by play! That second one he's like "WHAT are you doing to me MOM!" and by the end..."hey...not so bad!" ;)

He's so tiny and precious! :) I just love the expressions your baby makes. I miss mine being so little and cuddly. Enjoy it while it lasts - it goes fast.

Great pics!

I could have helped you with this. I may not have any babies, but God knows that I have given my friends' babies their share of baths. ;)

He is SWEET. It looks as if he is truly starting to "fill out."

Enjoy!

What do you say when "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!" isn't enough? So sweet, his little face peeking out from his hooded towel, adorable. Sniffing fresh baby head is the best. :) Don't ya just LOVE baby wash and lotions? Many times I've considered using the lavender scented products myself.

great pics! oh and I thought I'd mention but be extra careful using all those great smelling baby products. I used to love the pink Johnson's products, until my daughter became dry at 3 months and 'itchy'. She has excema that I now have to keep under control and the scented products really mess her up (she's 4 now). The best baby/kid lotion but it doesn't smell like anything is the plain Vaseline Intensive Care non-scented. I use it on both my daughter and my son. Now my son doesn't seem to have the same 'itch' factor as my daughter, but then again I save using the 'baby lotion' products for special occassions like when Grandma is around, church, etc. Either way, just pay close attention and if you notice dry patches (you'll feel them) then just switch over to non-scented until it goes away.
