Grown Up Get-togethers

Last night, we entertained for the first time in our new apartment.

HA! We are grown ups... we entertained!

A few friends came over for drinks (margaritas and beer) and we were just going to hang out and maybe play a game. We discussed board games and card games, but eventually settled on a dice game. None of us had played Three Man in a while, so it sounded like fun.

You know you're getting old when you can't remember the rules to Three Man anymore and neither can any of your friends!!!

We sat there laughing as we tried to recall the rules. We gathered enough to start playing, and then remembered more as the game went on. One person commented that it was harder to play these days because you had to be conscious of who had to drive home later and who didn't, but then the same people got passed the drinks every time. Lame ass dude, guess who DIDN'T have to drive home?

We all took a break after a while to visit the loo and refresh our drinks. The guys ended up outside chatting while the girls hung out inside. When the guys came back in, they were all excited about the idea of going to New York for New Year's Eve in Time Square. We vetoed it though, but for different reasons.

I don't like cold, and I don't like crowds of people I don't know. She would rather spend her money on going somewhere beachy and tropical or somewhere educational (I love her in spite of that though!).

Well, one thing led to another and the subjects covered over the course of the evening included religion, politics, abortion, physics, my friend's band, HTML, Flash, website design, and Photoshop. I must say, I was able to hold my own in the geeky subjects near the end, shining especially in Photoshop. Yup, my geekdom is progressing nicely.

There was only minor cleanup after everyone left for the night. Sometimes, it's NICE being an adult!

Why don't I know this Three Man dice game?! I'm queen of the drinking games. My mom would be so proud.

Glad you had a great time! You are so adult-like now!
